Privacy notice

Twelve Tables is a cookbook and website run by Peter Thomas. This notice explains what personal information we collect through our website, twelvetablesbook.com (twelvetablesbook.co.uk also leads here), why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

Who we are

This website is run by Peter Thomas, trading as Twelve Tables. If you have any questions about your information, please email bopagladys@gmail.com

What we collect

  • Your email address, if you sign up with “Save me a place”.

  • Basic visit information, such as which pages are viewed, the type of device and browser, and roughly where in the world visits come from. Our website provider, Squarespace, collects this to keep the site working and to give us simple visitor statistics. We can’t use it to identify you personally.

Why we collect it

We use your email address only to:

  • send you a welcome email when you sign up, and

  • let you know when Twelve Tables is published, with occasional news about the book.

We collect it because you have chosen to give it to us (your consent). Twelve Tables will never sell, rent or share your email address with anyone else for their own marketing.

Where it is kept

Your email address is stored securely by Squarespace, which hosts this website and sends our emails. Squarespace may store information on servers outside the UK, including in the United States, and uses legal safeguards to protect it.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until the book project ends, whichever comes first.

Your choices and rights

Unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send.

You can ask us to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you. Just email bopagladys@gmail.com

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We’d be grateful for the chance to put things right first.

Cookies

This website uses a small number of cookies. Some are needed for the site to work. Others help us understand how the site is used. When you first visit, you can choose whether to accept the optional cookies, and you can change your mind at any time.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we use your information, we’ll update this page.
